Interactive roundtable discussion ‘Europe Going Global: The Road to Strategic Autonomy’

Following Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, we have witnessed a change in geopolitical reality, the multilateral system and its rules have been called into question, and the great geostrategic realignment has begun. Fear and uncertainty are once again dominating the domestic and international discourse, the future of global relations is hard to predict, and the rules-based international order is under severe strain. Issues such as climate, food and energy crises, coupled with high inflation and rising prices, have put many governments under pressure and many citizens on the streets.

How can the EU lead by example in the current volatile and unpredictable international global environment? Is it even strong enough to assume a role of a leader? Would that come at the expense of the European social model that makes the EU unique and attractive to others?

Join us for an interactive roundtable discussion ‘Europe Going Global: The Road to Strategic Autonomy’ and discuss these topics with:

  • Mr Marko Štucin, State Secretary for European affairs, international law and the protection of interests, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia
  • H.E. Ms Florence Levy, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Republic of Slovenia
  • H.E. Mr Adrian Pollmann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Slovenia.
